Moving from Jekyll to WordPress

Written from Prado del Rey, Andalusia, Spain

Just moved my blog from Jekyll to WordPress.

In short, Jekyll proved a pain to post on. Create a new markdown file, type the date and title to format the filename correctly, copy and paste in the meta info and update. Only then can I get to writing.

It was discouraging to post on. That was the decider. I need something that encourages me to write, that I can knock out some quick thoughts in a few minutes. WordPress wins for my use case—”Add New” then “Publish”.

Baked in SEO stuff is also a bonus. And static files are fast, ye. But my site is still super light and the page load difference is negligible.
